Tyler specializes in fintech, insurtech, enterprise software, and SMB enablement investing. Prior to GreatPoint Ventures, Tyler worked at Point72 Ventures. Before Point72, Tyler trained at some of Silicon Valley’s most respected venture capital and growth equity firms, including 8VC, WndrCo, Felicis Ventures, Unshackled Ventures, and Contrary Capital.
Tyler is originally from Chicago and graduated from Claremont McKenna with a degree in financial economics, where he was a Chicago Scholar and Keck Science Immersion Scholar. At age 18, he was one of 14 nationwide freshmen selected to join Morgan Stanley’s summer financial analyst program; where he subsequently became a national student ambassador for the firm.
Outside of the office, Tyler is the founder of Confluence.VC, a collaborative resource database and networking platform. He is passionate about youth mentorship, progressive political reform, gender equity initiatives, education, and the arts. Currently, Tyler is an advisor to Joe Lonsdale’s Cicero Institute, empowering purpose-driven entrepreneurs to address America’s toughest socioeconomic challenges. He is also an advisor to BlackArchives.co and Hood Mid-Century Modern, two of the country’s leading African American social media platforms.
