The General Purpose Vehicles (GPV) facility is located at 31291 Comcast Drive in New Haven, Michigan. This facility is conveniently located within in one hour’s drive from Detroit Metropolitan Airport (DTW), 30 minutes from the U.S. Army Tank-Automotive and Armaments Command (TACOM), and a 15 minute drive from Selfridge Air National Guard Base.

GPV is a single source manufacturing facility covering all aspects of metal fabrication.

Within GPV's metal fabricating shop there is a Koike Aronoson Lasertex CO2 Laser Cutting Gantry System with the largest laser table in Michigan. Features and Capabilities:

4000 Watt CO2 Laser
11'W x 80'L Laser Table

240 ton Hydraulic Press Brake that can bend and form steel up to 14 feet long; and a CNC controlled, Hydraulic Shear that can cut steel 1/2 inch thick up to 10 feet wide. GPV’s experienced welders use Gas Metal Arc Welders (MIG) and Gas Tungsten Arc Welders (TIG) to fuse the cut pieces of metal into a fabricated part. The facility currently features a 48’ X 20’ environmentally controlled paint booth to handle all painting requirements.

The environmentally controlled Electronics Department uses Surface Mount Technology (SMT) design in all circuit boards. GPV’s in-house manufacturing of these GPV boards and GPV computers allow changes to be made within a matter of minutes, while other companies that rely on outside sourcing may take weeks to complete. The manufacturing quality is inspected prior to installation. All control modules are tested on the bench as well as in the vehicle as a system. Software configurations can be changed quickly, as all programming is done in-house.

The Engineering Department has experience in designing vehicle systems and armament stations. CAD software programs Pro-E (design software requirement of the U.S. Army) and Solid Works are used to design all tooling fixtures, vehicles and vehicle subassemblies.
